How are the sky conditions?  Great!  The Cherokee National Forest is to the north and east - very dark.  The south and west have low light domes.

Typical naked-eye magnitude limit on a clear, moonless night:

     At the zenith:

6.5

     East:

5.5

     West:

     North:

5.5

Best horizon: Hard to say.  Most of the horizon is awesome except for really the southwest.  The altitude is such you can look level at the horizon - it is a hilltop with no trees - hence the name!

Worst horizon: Southwest.  Level to the horizon.

Comments from contributor:  A 360-degree-view of three states. Picnic area, no restrooms.
